Our History
For the past 40 years, A&J Washroom Accessories has been committed to providing customers with quality products at a competitive price. A world class company with family business roots, AJW is a true example of something built from the ground up.
Our founder, Anthony Granuzzo, planted the seed for AJW in the 1960s while employed at a metalworking company. When he saw the outdated methods that companies used to fabricate steel products, he knew that he could do it better. After months of thought and experimentation, Anthony developed a highly efficient method of manufacturing steel products never before seen in the metalworking industry. He later created a washroom products division under the title A&J Washroom Accessories, named for himself and his wife, Jayne.
Anthony built his company around a do-it-yourself mentality where the customer always came first. He hand-delivered local customers’ orders, storing products in his home garage before driving to job sites in the early morning.
As AJW grew, so did the need for more space. Over 30 years ago, Anthony relocated the facility to its current location in New Windsor one machine at a time, ensuring that his customers’ orders would still be completed as scheduled during the move. The new, larger factory and warehouse had ample storage so that popular items could be kept in stock. As the company became recognized for manufacturing quality washroom products, AJW grew into a worldwide supplier.
AJW Today
In early 2008, a group of forward-thinking individuals who saw the potential in Anthony’s business model acquired the company, beginning a new and exciting chapter in our story. With a fresh perspective and the renewed goal of offering our customers the easiest and best experience possible, AJW continues to grow. A combined team of seasoned veterans and resourceful newcomers maintains our promise of quality in-house product fabrication and outstanding customer service.
